Work in progress: 2 new lace shawls

This week I finally started knitting again! I have 2 new shawls in my plans - couldn't decide which to start first so I'm working on both at the same time. The first one, will be a lovely stripped lace wrap in blue and olive green. The other one - a large triangular shawl with leaf pattern. For both of them I'm using a yarn I hand dyed a couple of weeks ago.

I think I will finish both of them next week and will work on them at least 3-4h a day.

Another great news! I finished new fabric flower accessories - this time lovely hair pins with folded roses. I absolutely love how they came out and I'm planning to do a pair of the stripped ones for myself.

Update: New flower accessories

This week wasn't as busy as the last one because I'm still waiting for supplies I ordered to arrive. But I managed to create new flowers and list them in my MadelinesWardrobe shop. They will make a great Christmas gift for girls who love to put flowers in their hair.

I have more flowers ready - including new line of hair pins - and I'm going to list them during the weekend. I will be adding a new hand knitted lace shawl as well, this time in beautiful olive green color.

Shop Update: New flowers accessories now available!

It was a very busy weekend for me! I managed to finish a dozen of new flowers, clean the flat,do the laundry, knit, read and cook a delicious dinner for my friends.

Weekend = more fun with dyes :)

Can't wait for the weekend to begin - I have over 20 skeins of beautiful hand spun pure wool yarn and lace weight merino/silk yarn to play with! So many colors - so many possibilities :) Just have to remember to buy some stuff from the market - like bleach. Last weekend I beautifully stained my kitchen floor with lovely shades of olive green and purple. Well - the colors are great but the floor, as well as the whole flat, is rented and I would like to get my deposit back at some point.

I'm also in the middle of knitting another of my lacy shawls - this time something for brides and snow queens - a triangular lacy shawl in snow white! I hope I will finish it during the weekend and list on Etsy asap.

Btw. have you seen my latest lace weight hand painted yarns? I just listed 2 new yarns - one in beautiful olive green and another one in jeans blue shades.

Olive Tree - hand painted lace weight yarn 1200m/100g

I hand painted this one using a sponge brush and 3 lovely shades of dyes - olive green, sunny yellow and hazelnut brown. The colors came out beautifully and I'm very proud of it!

This one, on the other hand, was dyed using a tie-dye method with only one color - I mixed lagoon blue with a bit of purple to get darker shade of blue. It took me over 4h to finish dying this one skein but thanks Lord I didn't have much work - I just had to remove the hank step by step from the dye bath every 20 minutes.

1...2...3... Art...Fire!

Today I decided to give a try to ArtFire marketplace. I set up a shop there - MadelinesWardrobe, where I offer my hand knitted lace shawls as well as hand painted laceweight yarn. I'm kind of sick of Etsy and their never ending problems. Maybe ArtFire is not as nice and well-design as Etsy but it definitely has some very useful tools not available to E. sellers (and for which they have been asking for ages). We will see.

So I decided to open another Etsy shop - this time with lovely, soft & light lacy shawls and wraps. I just finished my 3rd shawl and started another one. Now I have to find a cute model for shooting and will be ready for listing on Etsy some time after holidays. My new shop's link is MadelinesWardrobe.etsy.com

Working with lace weight yarn is a pure pleasure, specially knitting. I think I love it even more than crocheting!
